2016 NBA Free Agency Thread

HOU is shopping Ariza... Want to open SF spot for MB... His 8 mil hit and price probably make it impossible... But.., Jennings tweeted out that TA should join him in NY...

Ariza would be the final piece for a potential title run. If, somehow, we turn KOQ into DW or Ariza... Phil did a good job this time around.

He's meeting with MIL already... So rumor has it he took off on Cavs jet with Lebron & Gilbert...

Makes sense... MIA won't beat GSW... Probably not even CLE... Wade pissed they have HW the max and lowball led him again.... Lebron left for him... Why not leave for Lebron...

Would be funny if Love goes to BOS and Melo to CLE too... Knicks get Sullinger and Crowder and draft picks.

Gilbert would be crazy to take on Wade on a long term deal. I think MIA is right telling DWade, look you're not a 20M player anymore, you're body is breaking down and if we get 60 games out of you a season we're going to be lucky. Accept your role as an aging veteran, take less money like Tim Duncan has and you can retire in Miami.
 
Couldn't have happened to a better dude, so happy for Dirk. Like really genuinely happy. Glad Mavs did right and took care of him. He's one of the last OGs, they don't make em like this anymore...you will always have my respect.

I love Dirk. That 2011 run he had in the Playoffs is unforgettable.
 
Kuz who?

Dirk rocks. His taste in music is horrible (hasselhoff fan)... But he goes down as arguably the best scoring PF of all time...

Mindaugas Kuzminskas - F - Knicks
The Knicks have agreed to a two-year deal with Lithuanian forward Mindaugas Kuzminskas.
He recently signed a multi-year deal with Turkish team Darussafaka Dogus, so the Knicks will have to buy him out. Kuzminskas is a 26-year-old, 6'9" SF, and the Knicks could certainly use some more depth at the three. He averaged 11.1 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 20.5 minutes per game last season in the Spanish ACB, but he's obviously not a lock to even make the team.

Smart, cost-efficient move by Phil Jackson who has once again tabbed the Euro league for talent. Kuzminkas is a face-up 6'9 forward who isn't afraid to put the ball on the deck. A fierce competitor who can knock down the three, the Kuzminkas signing bids adieu to Derrick Williams and leaves Willy Hernangomez to fill out the rest of the team's cap space.

As New York has targeted new faces in the early goings of free agency, Hernangomez was in Phil Jackson's pocket as a promising asset from last summer's draft. Such a stash exercise could really pay off. Signing (another) backup big hasn't yet appeared to be a pressing priority of the Knicks thus far. With that in mind, they must have faith in the young gun's potential translation to the NBA game.

Hernangomez could really thrive in the pick and roll. He moves well, and has decent range and even better hands to help cash in on easy scoring opportunities. He has great length defensively, and is said to be a maturely intelligent player. He should be able to make a relatively quick adjustment.

Mindaugas Kuzminskas 6'9" SF 26yrs old.

I thought PJ would have to go to Europe or the D-League to get a couple of guys to fill up that bench. Have no clue how good he is. Looks like he got the room exception and perhaps Willie got the 1.9M in cap space we had on a 2-3 yr deal.

We can still sign Galloway, I think PJ is done short of a trade for Quinn/Holiday and vet min contracts like Sasha, Lou.

No lack of YouTube vids on Mindaugas Kuzminskas. Most of the vids are dunk fests so he must have a rep of playing above the rim. Not sure how reliable his jump shot is but he's pretty athletic, looking forward to seeing him play against NBA competition.

Looks like a decent uptempo type player with a motor and some grit. Hope he gets a chance to play
