Yeah I see that happening, if I'm Thibs I'm not giving him anything close to 100M though. Thibs likes Melo as well, maybe Thibs would do a deal for him, might get a Pekovic who we would waive, other spare parts and a 1st out of it. Thibs seems to be all in this year, now if Melo agrees.
They waived him Tuesday for cap relief, haven't looked at the Wolves cap situation but maybe they needed to waive him pre-draft to make room for Butler. They already waived Pek appears, I think yesterday. Might be wrong but looks true
Here's something interesting that maybe let's PJ off the hook for not making the KP deal but supposedly Ainge did not want to give up #3 for Butler so what was he talking to PJ about?
Is Phil sleeping? I know he feel asleep during a pre-draft workout..... will he ever make a trade to help NYK?
We have Melo and Lee and KP and all this stuff.... we can absorb payroll.... people are selling picks.... HELLO!
I think the reality is that because of his age and rookie contract, Porzingis can bring you more value even than a proven star like Butler. I bet you Ainge was a lot more willing to give up the #3 pick for Porzingis than he was for Butler. In the end, Butler must not have commanded much trade value if Chicago was willing to settle for Markkanen, Lavine, and Dunn. ESPN has been calling it fleecing of Chicago.
I'm interested in the analysis of this or if Broadway and Mafra can weigh in but he had 2 years left on his deal so it's not like they had to deal him and he was their best p!ayer. Ridiculous heist by Wolves and makes no sense to me that the Bulls would do this now and why they couldn't do better in what they got for him. Melo is going to get zip back, PJ wants him gone it's either a buyout or he trades a first to deal him but he has to say pretty please to Melo.I think the reality is that because of his age and rookie contract, Porzingis can bring you more value even than a proven star like Butler. Kiya posted that article that DSJ has that extra tendon in his knee just like Adrian Peterson of the Vikings who recovered from ACL surgery in 4 months and had a great season if I remember correctly. Based on his anatomy I don't think his knees are going to be as long term issue.Dennis Smith describes himself as "Derrick Rose with a jump shot". Funny comparison for a guy who has already had one major knee surgery. Hope Dallas has some good orthopedic surgeons lined up. Maybe some good psychiatrists too just in case Smith also likes to miss games to visit his mother.
Also, PJ, please don't resign Derrick Rose.
