Knicks get the third overall pick in shocker lottery

Wow! Wow! Wow! The Zion talk ended shockingly last night as the New Orleans Pelicans won the draft lottery and the rights to select Duke’s wonder kid.

The Pelicans, who finished with a 33-49 record, alongside the Memphis Grizzlies, shared a 6% chance of winning the lottery, unlike the Knicks, the Suns and the Cavaliers who led the way with chances of 14% each. Yet, these first two got the top picks in the 2019 draft.

The Knicks on the other hand, after finishing with a league worst 17-65 record, got the third overall pick, while the situation for the other two teams other teams that shared the same chances the Knicks did is even more sinister.

And while the third pick isn’t necessarily a tragedy, for the Cavs and Suns things look just horrible as they ended up with the 5th and the 6th pick.

Here’s the list with the results:

1. New Orleans Pelicans

2. Memphis Grizzlies

3. New York Knicks

4. Los Angeles Lakers

5. Cleveland Cavaliers

6. Phoenix Suns

7. Chicago Bulls

8. Atlanta Hawks

9. Washington Wizards

10. Atlanta Hawks

11. Minnesota Timberwolves

12. Charlotte Hornets

13. Miami Heat

14. Boston Celtics

The question now is which team will tank in 2019/20?
