Kristaps Porzingis the new Taco Bell Skills Challenge Champion

After a solid performance the other night in the BBVA Rising Stars challenge, Kristaps Porzingis won the first trophy in the All Star weekend for the Knicks since Nate Robinson got his third title in the Slam Dunk contest back in 2009.

Porzingis took DeMarcus Cousins out in the first round, then defeated Nuggets’ Nikola Jokic in the second round. In the final round he beat Gordon Haward of the Utah Jazz.

“It feels good to win no matter what. It’s a good feeling that I’m able to showcase my skill with my size and show to the kids that you’re capable of doing that even if you’re tall and lanky like me.”

The Knick completed all the passes through the hoop on the first attempt and in the final, he beat Hayward to the three point line and made the jumper that won him the title.
