Knicks at Pelicans MSG Broadcast Recap

New York Knicks MSG Broadcast Recap – NY Knicks vs. NO Pelicans – 10/30/2021
Knick Or Treat
Since the Knicks are off tomorrow, tonight was the night for the Knicks organization to celebrate Halloween, those who actually wanted to have fun that is.
Wally Szczerbiak and Alan Hahn were wearing orange, and Hahn went all in with the black suit and orange tie. Monica McNutt at least was wearing Knicks blue. Bill Pidto wasn’t dressed for Halloween or the Knicks, but maybe he’s strict with celebrating on the 31st only.
A few of the Knicks players were interviewed for the Knick Or Treat! segment. They were asked about their costumes when they were kids. One of Taj Gibson’s was a Power Ranger. Derrick Rose wanted to assure us all that what he was about to tell us is true. His mom put a white sheet over his head and cut holes out to be a ghost.
Right after this segment was shown in the Knicks Pre-Game, pictures of Wally’s costumes from the vault were displayed, one of them when he was a little kid looking like a Transformer Power Ranger.
When are we getting black with orange font Knick uniforms for Halloween? Alan Hahn showed tonight how great and fitting a color combination they would be.
Cadillac Trivia Question
(You gotta wait for the answer later on in this post just like on the MSG broadcast)

Music
I don’t know what’s up with the music playing in the intros and outros of the MSG Broadcast this season. It sounds like they’re playing out of place stock music.
Notable Commentary By Clyde And Breen
- Instead of partying in New Orleans yesterday, October 29th, for his birthday, Evan Fournier decided to get his rest and get shots up to prepare for the game against the Pelicans.
Personal note – October 29th, 2008 is the first Knicks game I went to, and it was with my dad.
Happy Belated Birthday, Fournier!
- This coming Monday’s game on November 1st between the Knicks and Raptors will be the 75th Anniversary of the first NBA game, which was the New York Knicks at Toronto Huskies. This time the game will be in New York.
- Walt Frazier asked the production guys if they could pan the Smoothie King Center to show the empty seats in the arena. The first shot shown by the camera crew showed they eventually got a good crowd, but then a shot of the upper-rows barely had anybody. Clyde wanted to show how much of an impact a star player, Zion, being out could effect attendance and revenue.
- After Breen asked Clyde if he went trick or treating as a kid, Frazier, saying he didn’t, also said, “I ruled the house. I had all the candy anyway.”
MSG 150 – Fast Notes
Half-Time
- Wizards/Celtcs – Montrezl Harrell half-court shot shown. Wizards win in Double OT. In the Post-Game 150 Bradley Beal is shown lifting his two little kids after the game wearing dalmatian costumes (I would have thought they were cows if Monica McNutt didn’t say dalmations, unless she is wrong).
- Cavs/Lakers – LeBron logo three shown. Melo with six threes, 24 pts. LeBron/Love hug. Lakers win.
- Nets/Pacers – Blake Griffin and Joe Harris run into each other knocking themselves down. Nets win.
- Denver/Dallas – Boban/Jokic hanging out in the audience seats before the game. Porzingis out with an injury. Mavs blown out, so Bol Bol gets minutes and excites the crowd with his play.
Post-Game MSG 150:
- Pacers/Raptors – Caris LeVert back for first game this season, gets 15 pts. Raptors win.
- Pistons/Magic – Cade Cunningham’s debut for Detroit. Pistons win.
- Bucks/Spurs – A couple in Milwaukee’s crowd is shown wearing Larry O’Brien Trophy costumes.
Near the end of the post-game it was announced that Bill Pidto won an Emmy for the MSG 150! Congratulations, Pidto!
