Knicks collapse after halftime, drop in Boston 114-98

After completing their first three game winning streak of the season, the Knicks collapsed in Boston and fell 114-98 at TD Garden last night.

Jalen Brunson led the Knicks with 26 points, Julius Randle added 25 and 9 while Josh Hart contributed with 16 buckets, starting for RJ Barrett, who missed the game due to a migrane.

The Knicks built a 37-29 lead early in the second half and led until halftime but couldn’t contain Jayson Tatum, who torched New York with 35 points to which he added 7 dimes. Tatum scored 23 of his points in the second half leaving the Knicks with no answers.

The Celtics outscored the Knicks 32-23 in the third quarter and 30-22 in the final act, building a 17 point lead down the stretch. Jayen Brown scored 22 points for Boston who maintain the second place in the Eastern Conference with an 8-2 record.

Up-next: The Knicks (5-5) continue their road trip in Atlanta on Wednesday night from 7:30pm against the Hawks (5-4)
