Knicks cruise over Pistons 108-100 at the Garden
Julius Randle scored a game-high 29 points and grabbed 11 boards as the New York Knicks defeated the Detroit Pistons 108-100 at the Garden in the third game of the preseason.
Once again, the team shot well the three ball coming close to 40% in a 13-33 shooting. Randle went 11-19 from the field and made 4 three pointers.
Veteran Taj Gibon followed Randle with 21 points and 9 rebound and Derrick Rose finished the game with 14 of them. All starters logged 30+ minute except for Evan Fournier who logged 26.
The Knicks trailed until late in the third quarter when, down 75-69, went on a 13-2 run that gave them the lead and from there, they never looked back.
The Pistons, led by Jerami Grant’s 18 points, got close with 6:16 minutes on the clock when they cut the lead to just three points. But then they went quiet for the next four minutes while the Knicks scored 10 points with no answer from the other side.
Kemba Walker was rested and Mitchell Robinson is expected to make his debut on the final preseason game, on Friday.
