Knicks cruise past Heat 114-103, win fourth straight
The Miami Heat sent just 9 players last night against the Knicks as their roster is decimated with injuries. Without the loud names that used to dress the Heat jersey, and with Chris Bosh out with a season-ending injury, Miami’s starting lineup is as anonymous as ever. Carmelo Anthony had no one to stop him and torched the Heat with 35 points, shooting 13-27.
The game itself however was very competitive, with a home team that in spite of playing better on the road, defended their court for the most part of the first three quarters but ran out of fuel in the fourth. The Knicks marched for a 114-103 road win.
Kristaps Porzingis logged another double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds while Joakim Noah had his first double-double since the trade. Noah finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds while playing only 14 minutes.
Courtney Lee returned to the lineup after missing the last two games and scored 9 points and grabbed 7 rebounds.
The bench players had their own contribution as well, with Kyle O’Quinn leading the second unit with 12 and 7 and Lance Thomas draining 11 buckets.
Knicks are now 4-0 in the last four games, improving to 12-9 and seem ready for the big test against the defending champs, as they will host LeBron’s Cavaliers tonight from 8:00 pm at the Garden.
