Knicks defeat Wizards in thriller
Lance Thomas was fouled on a jump shot as time on the clock expired and the score was tied at 88. The refs reviewed it and awarded him with two free throws. Thomas knocked them both in cold blood to give the Knicks their second win in a row in the preseason. He finished with 11 points alongside Brandon Jennings , who in the absence of Derrick Rose is slowly stealing the show to become a fan favorite.
Jennings excited the crowd with three made attempts from long distance and a hard foul on Casper Ware. The Knicks guard collided into the Wizards guard and as Ware got in his face, Jenings walked away smiling and clapping.
“This is New York — the concrete jungle. When you walk in the Garden, it’s not going to be sweet at all. As much as I can to light up the team, that’s what I’m there for. I felt something personal, and I was smelling blood out there. I never heard 20,000 people chant my name before.”

Carmelo Anthony led the Knicks with 19 points, shooting 7-11 including 4-5 from the three point line.
In the absence of Joakim Noah, coach Jeff Hornacek started with Willy Hernangomez at the center position. The Spanish rookie played 17 minutes, scored 2 points, grabbed 3 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
The Knicks will take a four day break and on Saturday will return to the Garden to host the Celtics.
