Knicks make a comeback in the third but can’t finish off Nuggets

The New York Knicks just checked their first 5 game losing streak this season after losing 96-101 to the Denver Nuggets at the Garden. In the last 10 games they are 1-9 but this is their first loss against a team with a worse record.

Knicks had a slow start, finding themselves down by 19 with 2 minutes on the clock before halftime. Then, all of a sudden things changed and New York played just like when they were winning games.

Kristaps Porzingis grabbed 13 rebounds, scored 13 of his 21 points in the third quarter and he did it from everywhere. The Knicks even managed to take the lead and go up by 3 but then the fourth quarter came and they just couldn’t keep up.

Carmelo Anthony had the chance to tie the game with 11 seconds to play but his three pointer went in & out. Anthony also finished with 21 points.

Jose Calderon scored all of his 11 points in the first half but got into foul trouble and was benched for most of the remaining time. Arron Afflalo contributed with 15 points while Derrick Williams and Langston Galloway each added 6 off the bench.
