No Brunson? No problem. Quickley leads Knicks to 9th straight win in 2OT thriller at TD Garden
In a thrilling double overtime game at TD Garden, the Knicks emerged victorious over the Celtics, 131-129.
Immanuel Quickley started in place of the injured Jalen Brunson and had a career-high 38 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists in a stunning performance logging 55 minutes.
“It was great. Sunday, in TD Garden, it doesn’t get better than that. I was telling [Julius Randle] that before the second overtime. I was like, <It doesn’t get better than this.> We’re on national TV in the Garden. Other than Madison, this is probably my favorite place to play, so I had a lot of fun.”

Julius Randle added 31 points and 9 rebounds, while RJ Barrett had 29 points and 11 rebounds. Mitchell Robinson also chipped in with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
The game saw the Knicks come back from a 14-point deficit in the third quarter and build a 100-89 lead in the fourth quarter, only to see the Celtics fight back and force overtime.
Quickley’s driving floating jump shot with 13 seconds left in the first overtime sent the game to a second overtime, where he scored the Knicks’ first 7 points to help seal the win.
The Celtics were led by Jason Tatum’s 40 points and 11 rebounds, with Jaylen Brown adding 29 points and Al Horford contributing 20 points and 14 rebounds.
With the win, the Knicks equaled the Celtics for the most road wins this season at 20 and are now just one game behind the fourth-place Cavaliers in the Eastern Conference standings.
