Knicks fall short to Clippers in chaotic night

The Knicks led by as many as 10 points early in the fourth quarter but couldn’t stop Jamal Crawford, who scored 9 of his total 20 points in the last act, to give the Clippers a 119-115 win at the Garden.

While the Knicks lost in old fashion, a weird moment and a highly embarrassing one for the organization happened early in the game. Present at the Garden, former Knick Charles Oakley was arrested and taken out from the stands by security handcuffed for apparently no big reason.

Still battling his way with team president Phil Jackson, Carmelo Anthony heard chants and led the Knicks with 28 points and 9 rebounds but connected just two in the fourth quarter.

“We bounced back from that Lakers game. The effort was there. The fight was there. We couldn’t pull it out at the end.”

Playing without Chris Paul, the Clippers relied on Blake Griffin who finished the night with a game-high 32 points, while DeAndre Jordan was in double-double with 28 buckets and 15 boards.

For New York, Kristaps Porzingis had 28 points, shooting 10-19, including 4 three pointers and Derrick Rose had 20 and 8 assists.
