Courtney Lee drops 27 against Nets as the Knicks win on the road again (111-104)

The Knicks have lost eight straight games on the road and it seemed that a frustration grew on them ever since they beat the Cavs in Cleveland, early in the season. That being said, they played most of their games at home and for a while, forgot how to win on a foreign court.

With the confidence level up, after winning two straight this week, they finally got a break last night in Brooklyn and managed to win their second game on the road, 111-104. But it wasn’t easy and it came with a cost.

After nailing 13 points, Kristaps Porzingis left the court in the third quarter with a sore left knee and did not return.

With their franchise player out, somebody else had to step up. And although it was Courtney Lee who scored the most points, the whole team effort was incredible.

The Knicks built a 17 point lead in the second quarter but with Porzingis out, the Nets successfully came back, tied the game and even went up by four later in the third quarter.

Lee dropped 18 of his total 27 points in the second half and shot 3-4 from behind the arc, all of them in key moments.

Michael Beasley added 15 off the bench while Frank Ntilikina finished with 7 buckets,8 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals, notching a game high plus- of 14.

Ron Baker’s presence was a real force on the defensive side, playing a huge role in helping the Knicks secure the victory. Lance Thomas’ three pointer that put the Knicks up, 106-97 with 1:22 remaining, erupted the Barclay Center with chants of “Let’s go Knicks” and sealed the fate of the game.

Enes Kanter scored 13 and was one rebound away of a double double while Kyle O’Quinn, who grabbed 10 boards was himself just one point away of his own double-double.

The Nets were led by Spencer Dinwiddie, who finished with 26 points, 7 dimes and 7 boards and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson who added 25 buckets.

New York improved now two games over .500 while Brooklyn dropped 11-16.
