Knicks drop 100-104 against Wizards in second preseason game

With a different lineup, but also without Kristaps Porzingis, Frank Ntilikina or Ron Baker, the Knicks looked better than on Tuesday but were unable to get the win and fell 100-104 to the Washington Wizards.

Coach Jeff Hornacek started Michael Beasley at the SF, Enes Kanter at the C and the rest of the lineup was filled with guards: Courtney Lee, Ramon Sessions and Tim Hardaway Jr.

The game was close throughout its entire time with just a couple of 5 and 6 point leads, until late in the third quarter when the Knicks managed to build a 10 point advantage. They couldn’t hold on to it as the Wizards needed less than 2 minutes to regroup and go into the fourth trailing by one. Mike Scott and Daniel Ochefu made the key points that helped Washington remain undefeated this preseason while New York has yet to win one.

Kanter was the main weapon for the Orange and Blue, the newest Center nailing 16 points and 5 rebounds in his first start. Hardaway followed with 15 while Lee finished with 12 buckets, all from behind the arc.

Joakim Noah spent 12 minutes on the floor and collected 2 points and 5 rebounds in his first game since February.

Next game: The Knicks will play in Brooklyn on Sunday at 7:30 pm.
