Knicks fall in Charlotte, lose first preseason game
Without the services of Carmelo Anthony, Robin Lopez, Kyle O’Quinn and the recovering Jose Calderon, the New York Knicks fell short in Charlotte, losing 93-97.
Coach Derek Fisher started with Langston Galloway, Arron Afflalo, Lance Thomas, Kristaps Porzingis and Kevin Seraphin, giving the younger players a shot.
Cleanthony Early led the Knicks with 17 buckets, the sophomore also contributing 4 boards, while Galloway went 3/3 from the three point lane, finishing the game with 15 points and 6 assists.
Despite losing the game, Derrick Williams and Lou Amundson had a more than decent performance, combining 26 points off the bench.
Porzingis who had missed the previous two games, returned to the floor and received 16 minutes, dropping 6 buckets and grabbing 4 rebounds.
