Knicks finish preseason with win over Nets
The New York Knicks finished the preseason in style, defeating the Nets 116-111 on their home court.
The black and white rivals have a strong start early in the first quarter to take a quick 11-2 lead, with Jeremy Lin scoring the first three points for his new team. The Knicks would tie the score at the end of the first quarter but find no way to take control and with less than three minutes until halftime they were behind the Nets by 11 points.
Led by Carmelo Anthony, the Knicks went on a 13-0 run to nullify the gap and take the lead; then they stormed the 3rd quarter winning it 32-21.
Anthony scored 21 points while Courtney Lee added 15 and 5 boards. Joakim Noah had his best game in a Knicks uniform scoring 12 points while shooting 6-9 from the field and added 6 rebounds.
Three Knicks from the bench finished in double figures. Kyle O’Quinn had another solid performance with 13 points and 7 rebounds, Justin Holiday scored 14 while Mindaugas Kuzminskas added 10.
