Without Carmelo, Knicks drop 121 on Celtics

So what if Carmelo Anthony misses a road game? Well, last season that was a crucial factor as the Knicks lost all the games Melo didn’t played.

Last night against the Celtics however, things had a different turn. Kristaps Porzingis was a force at both ends of the floor, scoring 16 of his 20 points in the first half. Shooting 7-13 from the field and playing 23 minutes, Porzingis scored jump shots, dunked and went on a coast to coast rally early in the 3rd quarter to finish with a layup. He also hyped the party 3 blocks to help New York win 121-96 at TD Garden.

Courtney Lee played 14 minutes and scored 11 points, as the starting shooting guard while Lance Thomas who started for Melo, finished the game with 7 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists.

Kyle O’Quinn led the bench with 13 points and 8 rebounds, while Sasha Vujacic and Ron Baker scored 12 points each.

The Knicks (3-2) will play the preseason finale on Thursday, in Brooklyn against the Nets.
