New York were down by one early in the second quarter when Tim Hardaway Jr. dished Porzingis for a dunk but he landed awkward and fell on the floor holding his left knee in visible pain. He was taken out and the MRI confirmed that it was a torn ACL.

“More than a basketball player, he’s my brother. I don’t want to see anyone going down like that hurting his knee. He’s about to be an All-Star. I’m just going to pray for him tonight. He is the most important part of our family.”

Enes Kanter

After losing their All Star, the Knicks continued to put numbers on the scoreboard and extended their lead to nine points.

The Bucks, however, led by Giannis Antetokounmpo, who scored 23 points, grabbed 11 rebounds and dished 6 assists, successfully came back and took the lead before halftime.

The Greek Freak was also the protagonist of the dunk of the night. Probably the year. Khris Middleton stole the ball after a bad pass by Lance Thomas, advanced on fast break, threw the ball in the air where Antetokounmpo grabbed it with one hand, flew over Hardaway Jr and dunked it hard.

The Knicks never recovered.

Kanter led the Knicks with 19 points and 16 rebounds, Courtney Lee added 14 and off the bench Michael Beasley and Trey Burke scored each nine.

Willy Hernangomez will part ways with the Knicks, as reported by the New York Post. The Spaniard sophomore will be playing for the Hornets and in return the Knicks will receive forward Johnny O’Bryant, 24 years old who measures 6 foot 9. O’Bryant played in 34 games for Charlotte and averaged 4.8 points.
