Knicks drop in Detroit, 89-102

A faulty defense allowed the Pistons to score 32 points in each of the first two quarters of last night’s game.

Without Reggie Jackson – injured, the Pistons managed to score from the paint without much opposition from Hornacek’s team and improved 3-1 after the Knicks managed to add just 10 points in the final quarter, with Derrick Rose scoring New York’s last two points with 5:42 minutes on the clock.

Kristaps Porzingis was benched for most of the fourth quarter and played only the last 3:22 minutes. He shot once and missed. The Latvian sophomore finished however with 18 points shooting 7-18 from the field and 6 rebounds.

Carmelo Anthony led New York with 24 and 4 steals points while Rose contributed with 19. Brandon Jennings had 12 buckets off the bench while the rest of the team finished in single digit on the score board.

Although Joakim Noah scored just a couple, he had 12 rebounds and 8 assists.

Next up, Knicks return to MSG to face the Rockets, a team that dropped 130 on them in preseason, tonight from 7:30.
